Fremont Teachers Receive Awards for Their Hard Work and Dedication

Two outstanding Fremont teachers received awards this year for their dedication and hard work. Mr. Erisoty, Auto Shop teacher at Fremont since 1994, was granted the “I Love Teaching” award from the school district. Ms. Hoch, Health/PE teacher, was also awarded for being the top health teacher in Utah from the Utah State Board of Education.

Arne Erisoty has received the “I Love Teaching” award and is honored by Weber School District in January. Erisoty has been teaching for over 30 years and has been teaching at Fremont since it opened in 1994. Erisoty is a very caring teacher and truly loves his job and what he does. He has had a huge impact on the community and the students. Lots of kids chose careers because of what they learned from his class, and lots of kids have been able to fix their own vehicles because of what they have learned from Erisoty’s class. Erisoty was asked if he had any advice for students or teachers, to which he said, “Keep going with your education or your career and enjoy your job and what you do–‘cause it will make you happy.”

The “I Love Teaching” award is given through nomination from fellow teachers and administration in the school. Eriosty said, “I think the award is given to teachers who really enjoy coming into work everyday. I think admin had a tough decision to make because there are a lot of good teachers at the school, but I feel very honored.”

Weber School District showed up unannounced and surprised him with the award, interviewing students while they were there. The students had nothing but positive things to say about Erisoty.  The district later invited Eriosty to the district office and was recognized by the superintendents, which Erisoty said was a nice event.

Mr. Eristoty was then selected to interview for the WSD Teacher of the Year, and was awarded Teacher of the year for Weber School District. He’ll now be considered for state Teacher of the Year. Congrats to Mr. Erisoty.

In addition, Mrs. Hoch has been recognized by the Utah State Board of Education as the “Top Health and PE Educator of the Month.” This award was given to her by Jodi Parker from the state office for her outstanding teaching in Health and PE, and the positive impact she has on the students. Mrs. Hoch has an amazing style of teaching that connects with her students and she helps students understand how human health works.

Principal Alicia Mitchell said,  “Mrs. Hoch is an incredible teacher and we are so lucky to have her here at Fremont. She is so interactive and hands-on with her students. She cares deeply about their well-being and learning. Haylee is a top-level leader on staff, and her impact extends beyond the classroom. Way to go, Mrs Hoch!”

This award is given to teachers who were anonymously chosen. Mrs. Hoch says she is “Very humbled” to be “chosen by my peers.” Mrs. Hoch says she strives to be 1% better every day, and, by doing so, it has helped her with life and career challenges. She invites everyone to “Strive to be 1% better everyday.” Congratulations, Mrs. Hoch. Fremont has inspiring teachers who significantly improved student learning. These educators went beyond simply delivering lessons, They created engaging supportive environments that encourage curiosity and critical thinking.

Finally, Mrs. Wilson, foods teacher and ProStart advisor, was awarded the  FACS/ProStart teacher of year. Way to cook!

Ms. Torres, math teacher and ELL teacher, was also presented with a prestigious awards for significant growth among some of her classes.

Fremont is clearly filled with amazing teachers, and the students benefit from that. Way to go Silverwolves!
