HOSA is holding the annual blood drive on Wednesday, October 4 from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm in the auditorium. To sign up, contact a HOSA member. The blood will be drawn by ARUP. It is a fundraiser for HOSA.
“If we get forty or fifty pints then they donate money to [HOSA],” said HOSA advisor, Doug Kap.
To be allowed in, you must bring a photo I. D., and have a signed parental consent form. Those who donate must be 16 years of age or older and must meet the weight requirement at 110 lbs., and the minimum height.
There is usually around 60 people who want to donate, but some have to be turned away because the requirements are not met.
“We are hoping to get more [donors],” says Kap.
Those who donate usually get treats while they donate to keep blood sugar levels up.
