Last week Twitter started testing 280 Character Tweets, doubling the previous character limit in an effort to help users who tweet in certain languages, like Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, etc., be more expressive. Users who are tweeting in Japanese, Korean and Chinese are able to share their thoughts with room to spare, they won’t be seeing this change anytime soon on their timelines. Although this is only being tested within a small group at the moment, Twitter may put this new Tweet length in effect for the rest of its users soon.
