Which is your “Go To Gym”?

The beginning of a new year tends to bring more business into local gyms, so here’s a little insight on a couple of them to check out.

The closest EOS gym to Fremont is in the Junction in downtown Ogden. This gym has two floors. The bottom floor is where cardio, weights, classes, racket ball, basketball, and swimming are located. The top floor is where the running track, personal training stations, and extra openings are for more individualized workouts. There are three membership options. The “Basic option” is $9.99 a month for access to the cardio and weight areas with a complimentary workout from a personal trainer. The “Blue option” is $21.99 a month for everything in the building and other EOS locations, except for unlimited guest privileges and recovery massage chairs. The “Black option” is $24.99 a month for everything inside the building, unlimited guest privileges, and access to massage chairs. (eosfitness.com)

Jeremy Gerritsen, a student at Fremont High says, “EOS has great equipment and the environment is very inclusive, the staff is really cool. Everyone stays in their zone, it’s motivating!”

There’s a VASA gym on 12th street for those who live north of Fremont, and another one in Clinton for those who live south of Fremont. They’re both one floor but still pretty big, while including the same exact essentials as EOS too. They also include a movie theater edition with cardio machines to use where you can watch a movie in peace and quiet, while working out. The Basic membership is $9.99 a month with access to the cardio and weight equipment. The Fitness membership is $21.99 a month with the same access as the basic membership and to the cinema, pool, classes, basketball court, and other VASA locations. The Studio membership is $39.99 a month and involves a workout session called “Studio Red ” where coaches there push you through 2 cardio and resistance training circuits with heart rate monitoring technology to record your progress. Aya Galt, who is also a student at Fremont states that, “I really enjoy going to VASA because the environment is very welcoming, and it has a lot of good gym equipment. Overall I think it’s just a good gym to go to with some friends!”

The closest Planet fitness is in south Ogden, and they have the same amount of equipment and options as any other gym. There’s a Classic membership option that costs $10.00 a month with access to the cardio, weights, and free training sessions. The only other membership is the PF Black Card that costs $22.99 a month and includes cardio, weights, tanning, massage chairs, hydromassage therapy, 50% off drinks, a free guest pass, and access to other Planet Fitness locations. There are only two membership options available at Planet Fitness, but they are the only gym that is open 24 hours Monday-Thursday. (planetfitness.com)

There are other gyms too, but these are some of the most common ones nearby. They all have specific hours, locations, prices, memberships, and equipment but what really sets them apart is the environment and quality, so which would you choose?
