This year’s tennis season brought together a mix of talented underclassmen and experienced seniors, creating a dynamic team environment. Senior Bree Armstrong emerged as a key player, finishing her season with an impressive 7-4 record in singles matches. Her performance in two singles was particularly noteworthy, making her a standout competitor within the team.
Junior Hannah Judkins demonstrated her determination and skill by achieving a perfect 1-0 record in two singles, despite facing challenges that left her with a 5-8 record in one singles.
Among the underclassmen, sophomores Quincy McConkie and Katelynn King showed great potential and promise throughout the season. McConkie ended her singles competition with a record of 1-1, while King had a stronger finish with a 4-2 record.
Senior Gracie Watson also contributed significantly, securing a solid 6-5 record in three singles. Additionally, sophomore Holland Stone played an important role, finishing with a commendable 3-2 record in five singles.
In doubles play, the pairing of Quincy McConkie and Isabella Provost ended the season with a close record of 5-6. Another notable duo, Bree Armstrong and Isabella Provost, achieved a balanced split at 1-1.
However, the standout team in two doubles was Brynlee Brown and Ava Ingalsbe, who secured a winning record of 2-1, showcasing their strong teamwork and skill. Although some other doubles combinations faced mixed results, the involvement of younger players proved beneficial, providing them with essential match experience that will aid their growth in the sport.
Overall, the team demonstrated both promise and resilience throughout the season. They achieved significant victories and worked hard to improve various areas of their skills, setting a positive foundation for the future. The combination of seasoned players with the enthusiasm of younger athletes created an encouraging atmosphere that will continue to foster development in upcoming seasons.
