Plain City and Farr West, have opened up lunch opportunities all within driving distance of our lunch hour. From small town convenience stores to diners, our options have expanded.
Most students leave for lunch every day whether they go home, go to Maverick, Kents, Westside, Fiiz, Sugar Rush, Mcdonalds, or Jimmy Johns. More alternative restaurants like Warrens, Costa Vida, and Einstein Bagels have now committed into the high school food frenzy.

Employment is important to most high school students as these various places open more students get hired to work. Depending on the pay and how far students live, these restaurants or fast food places are great first jobs for students.
Maxx Austin, a Junior at Fremont, and employee for both the Plain City Fiiz and Warrens, informs us about the deals presented to High School students, “Warrens has a high school lunch menu that costs five dollars, and it includes a few of the smaller menu items. I believe the items are the Little W, grilled cheese, corn dog, chicken tenders, and a hot dog.”
Warrens opened in the second week of January and is ready for the school rush. It’s location is only five minutes away from our school. Which makes it convenient for students to get a quick, easy, and affordable meal.
Westside Pizza also offers a lunch meal deal for students that is six dollars. This includes two slices of pizza and a bottomless drink for lunch. Mady Hill, Junior and employee at Westside Pizza talks about the rush during lunch hours, “Thankfully I don’t have to work the morning shifts, but I always hear about how busy the lunch rush is.”
Some students don’t always enjoy the menu given from Warrens and travel a little outside the comfort zone of Plain City. Only eleven minutes away is a Costa Vida which doesn’t offer a high school menu but does offer an employment opportunity.
Jayden Hendrickson, a Junior and worker at Costa Vida suggests, “I would recommend students go there for lunch if they are quick. I typically go home for lunch, but on days I go with my friends we’ve been to Costa Vida, Subway, Mcdonalds, Taco Bell, and Jimmy Johns.”
Many other students like Jayden also stick to this routine of occasionally going out to eat. Although some go out every day. This might put a dent in your wallet, so be sure to look for those lunch deals to save a few dollars.
Kent’s and Maverick still seem to be the most popular options for food with the convenience of being so close. However, especially as our little town grows, the opportunities for breakfast and lunch open all around the school for students.
