Sadies; Starring Iconic Duos

Whether they were two peas in a pod, better together, or partners in crime, Fremont High School shines down on our 2024 Sadies theme, Iconic Duos. Attendees will always remember the activities they planned, and created to become, “The Perfect Pair”.

Most students when they arrive at the dance don’t know what to expect whether it’s the music, the crowd, the decorations, or the type of line dances or slow dances provided.

This year, the school offered a photo booth that seemed to be a sucess at the dance. At the booth were provided different props students could use to take pictures with. They supplied various sunglasses, feather scarfs and signs.

Kenley Thomas, a senior at Fremont claims, “I feel like the theme was pretty unique. I really liked how they had a photo booth set up at the dance.” The decorations and theme were all planned by our very own Silverline.

Abby Moyes, the silverline president and senior this year claims, “Our team was incharge of decorating but I want to give a shout out to our parents who did most of the work.”

The reasoning behind why the silverline decided Iconic Dous was between Abby Moyes and her council on the drill team.

Abby claims, “We wanted to do a theme the whole school would have fun with. A lot of other groups seemed excited about this theme so we decided to go with it!” The theme this year is what really made 2024 Sadies a hit.

Sadies is known as a very informal dance, and is highly appreciated by many students.

Kenley Thomas, also states, “ It’s not one of those big dances where you go get a tux and a dress and are planning for weeks. I enjoy Sadies, and had a ton of fun with the theme this year.”

Although because Sadies isn’t a formal dance like Prom or Homecoming, often groups and dates run into reservation issues or sometimes even day date problems.

Maxx Austin, a Junior at Fremont, shares his frustrations about the dinner reservations his group had, “It took us two hours to get into Buffalo Wild Wings, it was a really horrible experience. They said we couldn’t make a reservation before coming in except when we got there and a group that showed up after us that supposedly didn’t have a reservation went before us.”

This issue seems to be common with big groups.

Maxx Austin also talks about the perfect dance group size, “I think six people is the perfect size group. Mainly because with six you can plan and get into reservations easier.”

When planning a day date for sadies depending on how big your group is, many people love to do social settings like taking your group to Rush, Skinny Dogs, Color Me Mine, Airsofting, Escape Rooms, Aquariums, etc.

Additionally there are plenty of cute ways to ask your date to Sadies. Kenley Thomas asked her date using a tackle box and a bunch of candy while Maxx Austin answered his date using Hot Sauce from Taco Bell.

This year’s Sadies turned out to be an astounding experience for the majority of the students. The next girls choice dance will be Sweethearts on Feburary 1st located at Weber State University. The dance will be at 8:00 pm on Saturday. Make sure to dress in your best semi-formal and get asking your dates ladys!
