Speak: Harrowing Hauntings

By: Ike Woodbury and Kennedi Canova

Ghosts and ghouls can be found all over the world, but it seems that there’s something strange in our neighborhood at Fremont. So, get out your proton pack and be ready to get slimed because if we’re gonna learn about the paranormal experiences of students, you can’t be afraid of no ghost!

Our first stop in the Ecto-1 is at a horrifying hotel with Melanie Jensen, a sophmore.

She reports, “I was staying in a hotel and at 3 in the morning I looked at the corner of the room next to the window, and I saw a ghostly figure standing there. That same night my parents had dreams about my grandpa, so we think that was him!”

I doubt that this grandpa ghost is the man of all of their dreams, so we have to catch this spirit. It’s an easy capture, but there are a lot more spirits to take care of.

Speeding away before tasting ectoplasm, our next stop is across town with Logan Anderson, a senior.

He details his haunting by saying, “One time I got out bread and then went to get out the peanut butter and jelly. When I turned back around, the bread was floating in the air. You don’t believe me? Nobody believes me!”

This does seem a bit far-fetched, but the spiritual possession of an unmade sandwich is a highly punishable crime, so this ghost has gotta get got.

Our final stop before we load these ghosts into containment is with Taylor Grose, a sophmore.

She describes her experience, “I was little and I used to talk to a girl behind my bedroom door. My mom says I used to tell her that the little girl lived there.”

That’s just plain creepy, I don’t want anything to do with this, let’s go for our backup plan… run.

Hop back into the Ecto-1, it’s time to store these ghosts! We’ve captured a ghastly grandpa, a food fanatic phantom, and we survived a run-in with the most frightening type of ghost… an invisible child. It turns out that there was, in fact, something strange around Fremont, but with Halloween tonight, beware of any spirits that we missed.

The end.

Or is it?
